*Position Summary:*
The Dialysis RN provides direct patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They initiate and discontinue prescribed renal replacement therapy, document and evaluate dialysis orders, analyze patient assessments alongside laboratory results, and discuss any issues with the nephrologist. Additionally, they communicate emergencies, life-threatening complications, and related incidents to the supervisor hospital staff, and the patient’s physician.
Qualifications
*Minimum Education*
Completing the Nursing Diploma Program or an associate’s degree from an accredited institution is required for success.
Accredited school is necessary.
*Minimum Work Experience*
A minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a healthcare setting and a minimum of 6 months of acute dialysis experience are required.
*Required Skills*
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with little supervision.
*Certifications/License*
Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or Multistate license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire.
